High Fashion and Unique Sunglasses

Unique sunglasses are not only a perfect way to protect your eyes from damaging UV light, they can also add a touch of flair and high fashion.

While stylish shades can cost you a pretty penny, there are virtually limitless styles available at a myriad of cost points.  For example, some designer polycarbonate lenses can retail for a whopping $400, while other unique styles will only set you back $10. Whatever your personal preference may be, unique sunglasses can nicely complement your face shape and personal style aesthetic.

Retro or vintage inspired shades are very popular right now, as fun and flirty accessories are the key to a funky vintage ensemble. Retro sunglasses often feature a throwback cat eye shape, and are available in a wide array of colors, perfect for mixing and matching with any outfit. Cat eye glasses typically feature a dramatic up sweep at the outer edges, where the arms---or temples---of the glasses join the frame's front. This style was all the rage during the 1950s and 1960s, and is still associated with the "B-52" beehive hairstyle of the time. These unique glasses still call to mind timeless images of Marilyn Monroe on the beach, Audrey Hepburn during her iconic "Breakfast at Tiffany's" scenes, or famed actress Elizabeth Taylor during a sunny, Southern California outing.

Round cat eye glasses, which combine a sexy retro look with a modern round lens, are also growing in popularity, promising to be the "it" trend of summer 2016. Combine this with an innocent pastel hue and you have a fashion hit on your hands

But you don't have to travel all the way back to the early 50's to achieve a vintage throwback look. Large bug eye sunglasses of the '70s, '80s and '90s featuring large aviator frames, reminiscent of "Starskey and Hutch"  are popular once again, and available at most large retailers and local boutiques. Lenses embellished with delicate floral additions also provide a retro look, and promise to make your outfit pop. If you want to make a statement with your eye wear, there really is no easier way. With floral appliqués, sparkling jewels and various metallic finishes, you are bound to draw attention.

Another modern trend in unique sun glass styles features a wood frame. These typically borrow from classic lines, coupled with skilled craftsmanship resulting in an impressive wearable art form.  These particular styles do require a bit of extra care, as wood can crack when it is left in very high temperatures, so it is not recommend that you leave wood rimmed sunglasses in cars on a summer day or out in direct sunlight during the sweltering heat. Please visit this webpage for more details.

Geometric shapes are also a growing trend among sun glass consumers. These specific styles are available in a verity of shapes---octagons, stars, pentagons, hexagons---and color options, and supply the wearer with a fun, futuristic look.  This emerging trend is right on point with the global information technology boom, and is reminiscent of something you might have seen in "The Matrix" series.
